Introducing through GLASS:
Honouring 60 Years of Brunel and 40 Years of Design Excellence
Introducing Through Glass
2026 marks a significant milestone for Brunel University London. As the university celebrates 60 years, the Brunel Design School reaches its 40 year anniversary. Over this time, design at Brunel has continually evolved, shaped by changing technologies, cultural contexts, and ways of thinking. Through Glass emerges at this moment not only as a celebration of that legacy, but as a way of examining how design ideas are formed, challenged, and refined in the present,
A Lens on the Design Process
This year, the Made in Brunel brand takes glass as both a material and a metaphor. Glass is versatile, transformative, and precise- qualities that mirror the design process itself. Design rarely begins with clarity. Ideas often start uncertain, fragmented or undefined. Through Glass, we explore how those early thoughts are shaped over time.
Glass necomes a lens through which this journey is examined. It allows us to zoom in, to magnify the moments that matter- decisions, iterations and turning points that define meaningful design. It also enables us to frame the work, capturing the intent, care and critical thinking behind each project
Through Glass: Capturing Evolution
Much like glass itself, the design process precision and resilience. It requires designers to remain open, to question assumptions and to reflect on what works and what doesn’t.
Through Glass highlights this ongoing evolution. It invites us to look closely at how ideas respond to pressure, adapt to to constraints and gain clarity through refinement.
Brand Value
