Pecha Kucha

Pecha Kucha

Pecha Kucha, Thursday 9th June, 18:30

For the fifth year running Made in Brunel and Pecha Kucha are jointly presenting a high energy, high profile series of speakers discussing the many hues of Innovation. The Pecha-Kucha phenomena translating as ‘chit chat’, was originally devised in Japan to provide a platform of show and tell for 10 speakers showing 20 slides for 20 seconds each and a networking opportunity for designers, engineers, entrepreneurs and other like minded individuals.

At Made In Brunel’s Pecha Kucha events, we have consistently delivered a very high calibre of speakers; last year we were delighted to present Jay Osgerby from Barber Osgerby who have just been confirmed as designers of the Olympic torch for the London 2012 Games. This year will be no exception; we have some very exciting names in the pipeline as well as a dynamic new venue so this year’s show promises to be better than ever.

The speakers for 2011 have now been confirmed:

Mark Bond Head of Design, Tesco
Philip Dodd Chairman, Made In China
Maxine Horn Founder, Creative Barcode
Sarah Liddel Research, Design and Development Manager, Dyson
Jack Mama Creative Director, Philips
Simon Manchipp Founder and Creative Director, Someone

Bargehouse Interior

Made in Brunel is proud to introduce a new location for 2011: Bargehouse. A vast, untouched four storey building, Bargehouse is a blank canvas to be filled with some of the finest work from Brunel's School of Engineering and Design.

Alongside the main show a series of workshops, design forums and talks from specialists in design and engineering will give an insight into this rapidly evolving industry.
