Last Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st September, Made in Brunel and Co-Innovate welcomed Industry experts from the world of Design and beyond to the Michael Sterling Atrium, for an evening of discussion and feedback on our final year projects.
Traditionally held at the end of November, the Industrial Review Evening (IRE) has become an important date in the calendars of final year designers; for this is the first opportunity to gain valuable feedback from like-minded creatives.
The insights gained from the evening help to shape the directions of numerous projects, with every final year student attending and presenting their work to the experts in attendance.
On the Tuesday, projects from the social and environmental spheres were featured, with the Wednesday evening hosting health and safety themed projects. Around 30 experts were in attendance on each night, reaffirming Brunel Design’s strong relationship with industry. Those links are incredibly valuable and recognised by the students and academics alike.
Walking round the project stands, it was an impressive sight to see the breadth and depth of knowledge being exhibited. There are some truly exciting projects that are being developed, and we can’t wait to show the finished article at Made in Brunel’s end of year degree show in 2019.
Special thanks goes to our Head Technician at Brunel Design, Paul Josse, who invests so much time every year in getting IRE and the Made in Brunel brand launch off the ground. Thanks also goes to Co-Innovate, who help to nurture our links with industry, and thanks to those experts who attended.
In summary, IRE 2018 was a successful and fruitful evening for Made in Brunel and Brunel Design. Our futures are really gathering momentum.
